Please follow this link to sign-up to work the BBQ. You can see who has signed up already so you can work with your friends ...if you have any. This is probably THE BEST fellowship event of the year, next to the Cadillac Ball. Even if you only have an hour or two to spare on that day, come on down and help out. This will be a 3 day weekend so it should be a crowded event. We would really like to see some of the newer members at this event, as it's a great way to get to know the other members of the club. Besides if you aren't there...we will all talk about you. Andrew Cross is going to be our event captain this year so he will big shoes to fill for beer and tunes with James Conley giving up the reins. |

Our lunch meeting on August 13th will be at the Clair Tappaan Lodge on Donner Summit (Old Highway 40). Please sign up so we know how many lunches the lodge should prepare. Clair Tappaan Lodge is located at 19940 Donner Pass Road, in Norden, CA, just south of I-80 in California, near Donner Pass. Take exit 174 for Soda Springs/Norden, head east on Donner Pass Rd. for 2.4 mi, and look for our sign on the left. A loading zone is located up the paved driveway on the north side of the road and the Lodge entrance is just beyond that at the end of the footpath. This is a fun place and a great chance for you to check it out as a venue for your upcoming event. There will be no lunch at the Community Center.

Our regular lunch meeting will be moved to Martis Camp Family Barn. We will host seniors from Sierra Senior Services for a Thanksgiving feast. As their hosts and hostesses, I recommend arriving early, greeting the seniors as they arrive and inviting them to sit with you. The seniors tend to cluster and sit together otherwise If there is table without a seated senior form Sierra Senior services, and only Rotarians, the whole table will be fined heavily. All fines from this event will be donated to Sierra Senior Services. Please sign up so we have a head count for seating and catering. Gobble Gobble! |

I hope you’ll join us for this year’s Holiday Party – it’s shaping up to be a wonderful event! BUT -- time is running out. Final head count is due no later than December 4, 2015, so we need to hear from you. If you already signed up on line, please do so again – we’ve had a funny glitch with the website and it seems to be pulling forward RSVP’s from Holiday Parties Past. Or email your RSVP to Shannon Spangler at Shannon@NSNEnt.com.
I’m very thankful that, this year, the Club will be able to cover most of the cost of dinner, so please come, and bring a guest!
Tahoe Donner will give a one-day ski pass to downhill or cross country to use at your convenience this winter (with a few holiday exclusions, of course). I hope some of us can meet up for some fun in the snow on Saturday before the party.
Here are the details:
December 12, 2015 Tahoe Donner Lodge 5:30 – Cocktails, Dinner to Follow $15 per person No Host Bar, or Bring Your Own Wine (corkage fee applies)
Finally, please bring an unwrapped toy, food or coat for a child in need – Truckee Community Christmas needs our help this holiday season!
